DPI To Hold CCSS Hearings on December 19th

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) will conduct three hearings to accept specific public testimony and comment on Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in mathematics and English language arts.
The hearings will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in three locations around the state. Those locations will be:
CESA 12, 618 Beaser Avenue, Ashland, WI 54806
Logan Middle School, 450 Avon Street, La Crosse, WI 54603
Mary McLeod Bethune Academy, 1535 North 35th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53208
SAA members are encouraged to participate in these hearings either by delivering in-person testimony at the hearing sites or by submitting written testimony to the Department of Public Instruction. Written comments on the CCSS may be submitted via mail (Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, PO Box 7841, Madison, WI 53707-7841) or email to CCSSTestimony@dpi.wi.gov no later than January 3, 2014, and will receive the same consideration as testimony presented at the hearings.
