Walker decided to deliver his budget address during the daytime after doing the same with his annual State of the State speech.
Both speeches have typically had 7 p.m. starts, though Walker delivered his 2011 budget during an afternoon address.
He moved his State of the State speech this year to the afternoon.
“We just thought it worked well last time for the State of the State and we thought we’d try it again,” said Walker spokesman Tom Evenson.
Walker yesterday asked legislative leaders for a joint session at 4 p.m. Feb. 8 to unveil his 2017-19 budget.
