Legislative Council Agrees With DPI on SB 619

By Wisconsin School Administrators Alliance staff | February 28, 2014

Legislators and other proponents of SB 619 have stopped bashing State Superintendent Tony Evers over his contention that the bill would allow the Legislature to modify state academic standards.  Why?

Maybe its because attorneys at the Wisconsin Legislative Council have agreed with DPI attorneys that the Legislature would be able to modify a bill establishing model academic standards through any kind of amendment.

The Legislative Council supported the DPI’s conclusion in a memorandum prepared at the request of Representative Sondy Pope.

See the Legislative Council memo here.
