SAA Opposes Newest School Accountability Proposal
By Wisconsin School Administrators Alliance staff | March 18, 2014
This morning the SAA sent a letter to Representative Jim Steineke expressing our opposition to the most recent school accountability proposal (ASA 1 to SB 286). Assembly Republicans plan to pass this proposal this Thursday, March 20th. You might recall that the Senate passed SB 286 in a stripped-down form that would not impose any sanctions on low performing schools. You might also recall that Representative Steve Kestell, Assembly Education Committee Chair, has publicly opposed this proposal as well. For your information, the SAA is providing you with a link to a memo on this proposal prepared by the Wisconsin Legislative Council for Senator John Lehman (D – Racine).
Stay tuned. A lot could still happen in the waning days of the legislative session.
