LFB: Estimated Tax Collections Down

The Legislative Fiscal Bureau has dropped the projected net ending balance for the 2015-17 budget to $70.2 million.
That’s $94.3 million less than the $164.5 million the agency had previously projected.
LFB cited several factors in its revised estimate, including a $158.2 million decrease in estimated tax collections and a $29.5 million drop in estimated lapses to the general fund. That was offset somewhat by an $87.1 million drop in spending and a $6.3 million increase in departmental revenues.
